Zelda DS next October?
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for Nintendo DS will be released on 15th October 2007 in the US, according to a report in US magazine Game Informer.
The same article also claims that a follow-up to Wii title Twilight Princess has been in development for over a year.
Unfortunately for fans of confirmation, both claims were ruled "rumour and speculation" by Nintendo UK's trusty spokesperson, who wasn't prepared to comment.
Still, we could always just play the excellent Twilight Princess instead of moaning about what comes next, right?

325k Wiis sold in two days
Nintendo has announced that the Wii console has sold out in Europe, with 325,000 units snapped up in the two days following last Friday's launch.
That means the Wii now holds the title of fastest-selling home console in history across Europe - and not just in the UK.
Head over to GamesIndustry.biz for the full report.

"We're still on schedule to launch in March," says SCEE boss
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe boss David Reeves has told GamesIndustry.biz that suggestions the European launch of PS3 will be delayed once again are nothing more than 'speculation without foundation'.
Rumours of a delay began to emerge when consumer site CVG published a report quoting an unnamed source as saying the PS3 won't be arriving in March, as planned. The report went on to claim that a September launch date is now likely.
But speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, Reeves said, "We're still on schedule to launch PS3 in March throughout the PAL territories. All speculation otherwise is without foundation."
Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter agreed with Reeves that talk of a delay is "all speculation", telling GI.biz, "I think that the logic behind a March European launch was that demand would subside in the US sufficiently to allow Sony to divert supply to Europe.
"It's unlikely that supply will outstrip demand any time before June, but Sony could decide to have a soft launch with limited quantities in Europe."
According to Pachter, a delay is only likely to occur if Sony introduces a price reduction for the console. "Now that they have added HDMI to the US$ 499 SKU, they could decide to launch at a lower price point in Europe, and could explain away the delay that way - as in, 'We have to ramp manufacturing of the new and improved SKU.'"
However, Pachter concluded, "It's impossible to know what Sony is up to" - so any suggestions of a delay are merely guesswork.

"Dont compare Xbox360 games and PS3...."
Dont compare Xbox360 games and PS3 games now, give PS3 1 year and games will be better than 360. U wanna proof, here it is.
Looking up some Playstation sites, i spotted an interesting article at PSU with the vice president of EA Games talking about the PS3 and how they are handling it.
Quote:
Recently Glenn Entis, Vice President and Chief Visual Officer at Electronic Arts discussed his feelings about the PlayStation 3 console.
When asked, how do the PS3 and Xbox 360 match up? Glenn responded:
"The whole industry knows it's been a challenge; the PS3's a very complex piece of equipment. On one hand it's a challenge, on the other hand there's tremendous potential in that box. I think it's going to take developers a little while to figure out how to unlock that power.
We've got games coming out now where we feel we've hit maybe 20 per cent of the potential of PlayStation 3. We know the power's there, but like any new platform it's going to take us a little bit of time to unleash it.
Was it more complex than we were expecting? Yes, probably; there were some challenges that we didn't expect. We've got tremendous confidence long-term that it's going to be a phenomenal games machine."
So to find that EA has only tapped into 20% of the PS3's power, you look at games like Fight Night Round 3 with amazing graphics and realistic facial animations, it makes you wonder what the PS3 will have in store for us in the future. Like Glenn said,"...We know the power's there, but like any new platform it's going to take us a little bit of time to unleash it."
So with most games EA hit 20 per cent of PS3 power, not including NBA 07 which probably used like 5 per cent of PS3 power.
And by the way I never heard any developer saying this about 360 when it was released

Sony reshuffle says 'nothing' about PS4 plans - Pachter
Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter has dismissed suggestions that Sony's executive reshuffle signals the company's exit from the console hardware market as "foolish" and "embarassing".
"I think Kutaragi's promotion signals absolutely nothing about Sony's plans for a PlayStation 4," Pachter told our sister site GamesIndustry.biz.
"It is embarassing that an analyst could reach that conclusion so soon after launch. Sony cannot have made such a decision, and to draw such an inference is foolish."
Pachter's comments come after former SCEA boss Kaz Hirai was announced as the new president of SCEI - a move which, according to Nomura analyst Yuta Sakurai, suggests a shift by Sony away from hardware and towards software.
It's not just Pachter who disagrees - speaking to consumer site Gamespot, SCEA communications boss Dave Karraker said, "Following the launch of the PlayStation 3 just a few weeks ago, and witnessing the huge consumer demand for the product, I think it would be rather short-sighted for anyone to predict there might not be a next generation of PlayStation product."
Pachter went on to say that he was in agreement with another analyst, Hiroshi Kamide, who has stated that he believes Ken Kutaragi will now be responsible for managing relationships with third-parties.
"I have said repeatedly that this is the last console 'cycle' as we know them, and that future hardware would contain new features and functions, but not change the architecture until we are ready for virtual reality or holographic gaming," Pachter concluded.

Lefties better at games?
Australian research suggests that left-handers might be a bit better at games than their right-handed counterparts.
That's because, according to a report published in the Neuropsychology journal, sharing of information between the left and right sides of a left-hander's brain is "more efficient".
Dr Nick Cherbuin from the Australian National University told ABC Science Online that this would help with tasks that involve lots of information or stimuli, including "fast computer games".
He said that his research, which saw 80 right- and 20 left-handed people performing tasks designed to rely on collaboration between the two hemispheres of the brain, demonstrates that among left-handers "sharing of resource across their hemispheres is more efficient".
Lord knows what this means for me, mind you - I use my left hand for writing and my right for basically everything else.
You can read more at ABC.
